We take your child’s privacy very seriously. We see privacy as a human right that should be respected and protected.




How do I set up Keepers?


  1. Download the app on the relevant app store on your and your child’s device.
  2. Create a Keepers account on parent’s app.
  3. Log into the same account on the child’s app.




Will my child be able to see that Keepers installed?


Yes, your child will be able to see the app and a notification showing that Keepers is actively protecting your child. We deeply believe that transparency is an important foundation for healthy communications between parents and their children.




How much does Keepers cost?


There is a 14 days trial, after the trial you can purchase a monthly or a yearly subscription. All information will appear inside the app.




Are you compliant with the latest privacy laws?


Keepers Child Safety is GDPR compliant (Europe’s data privacy standard) with end-to-end encryption. We will never misuse your personal and sensitive information. We limit our collection and use of personal user data, purely to help protect kids online. We also ensure we are able to update and improve the app's features to improve the app and make it even more secure.

Why should I use Keepers?

Can Keepers be installed on 2 parents devices at the same time?


Yes, just download Keepers on the relevant device, use the same email address, choose “Parent Device”, type the name of the second parent and use the same password as you’ve used to create the account.

How can I manage my subscription?


To manage your subscription go to the settings screen on your parent’s Keepers app and choose the Payment option.





Setting Up Keepers

Should I use the same email address for all devices?


Yes, to use Keepers you need to use the same email address and password with all devices you want to use the Keepers per family.




Why can't I see my child device after installing the child app?


There are 2 main possibilities for not seeing your child’s device after successfully installing the child app:

  • Refresh your parent’s app by completely closing the app from the background/shutdown and restart your phone.
  • You used different email addresses on your device and on your child’s device. In order to fix this please use the account you’ve created on your child’s device and login with it on your parent’s device. If the issue persists contact our support team at info@keepers.ai




Why is the child’s birth date necessary?


  • Due to international privacy laws, we’re not allowed to collect information about children over 16.
  • Our message monitoring system has different levels of offensiveness for different age groups to make sure Keepers will only alert you about relevant information.




How can I reset my account’s password?


To reset your account password launch Keepers welcome screen, enter your email address and choose “Reset my password”. An email with further instructions will be sent to your email.





Social Monitoring

What words will be considered as offensive?


Our message monitoring system is based on an NLP mechanism. This type of technology is able to recognize offensive texts. The system is constantly updating itself to stay relevant and keep track of the newest terminologies. When an offensive word is recognized in a text an alert will be sent to the you.




Which social apps are supporting text monitoring by Keepers?


We’re currently monitoring the following platforms:

Why am I receiving notifications about old messages?


If your child views old messages that are being considered as offensive messages and were never monitored by Keepers before, the app will send you a notification with the date of the original messages.




Why is the text monitoring not working on my child’s device?


There could be several reason you can't see messages from your child device:

  1. Your child is using an iOS device which has limited features and text monitoring is not included (My child is using an iPhone. Can I use Keepers?)
  2. The text monitoring requires to enable the Accessibility permission for Keepers on the child’s device. Please go to the built in settings app on your child's device -> Accessibility -> Scroll to the bottom of the screen -> choose Keepers and enable the permission.
  3. Your child might not have any negative messages on their device and because of that you are not seeing any notifications.





App Blocking

Can I set rules for automatic app blocking?


Yes. On your parent’s app go to the no entry sign, choose one of time blocks, press the title and select the apps you wish to block and the relevant times and days. One completed press “Save” and the rules will work automatically.




How do I choose which apps to block?

Why is the app blocking not working on my child’s Xiaomi device?


To block apps on Xiaomi devices an additional permission is required: Please go to the built-in settings app on your child’s Xiaomi -> Apps -> Permissions -> Other permissions -> Display popup windows while running in the background -> Accept.





Downtime

What is the difference between “Now” and “Schedule” on the downtime menu?


  • “Now” mode allows you to immediately lock the child’s device for up to 24 hours.
  • “Schedule” mode allows you to schedule a future lock up to 24 hours for the next 7 days.




The downtime feature is disabled. How can I fix it?


If Downtime features is disabled make sure to update both the parent and child Keepers apps from the stores. If the issue persists please contact our support team at support@keepers.ai





Location

Why can't I see my child’s location?


The location tracking feature requires an active location permission and location services. Please make sure your child didn’t disable the location services or the location permission. If the issue persists please contact our support team at support@keepers.ai




How do I set up dangerous and safe locations?


To set safe and dangerous locations launch the parent app, tap the location icon, look for a place you wish to set a geofence on, press the area for 4 seconds and a popup will be shown. Select either worry-free area or a restricted area and press done.

Each time your child will enter/exit those areas a notification will be sent to your device.





Web Filtering

Which websites are being blocked by Keepers?


Keepers blocking websites that can include inappropriate contents for your child from the following categories:

  • Porn sites (Adult websites)
  • Violence (Websites with inappropriate content)
  • Gambling (Betting websites)
  • Chat sites
  • Dating sites
  • Hacking sites (Programming websites)
  • Manga\violence comics
  • Sexual education (Education websites with IM)
  • Advertisements




Can I change the blocking rules?


Yes, you can change the web filtering blocking rules by going to the parent app -> settings -> web filtering and then turning off or on the categories you wish to block on your child’s device.





Uninstall Prevention

Can my child uninstall Keepers on their own?


The child cannot uninstall in the Android version. As part of the setting process on the child’s device you will activate an uninstallation prevention that will prevent the child from uninstalling Keepers, so that you can have peace of mind while we will protect your children as long as you want us to.




How can I uninstall Keepers if I want to?


To uninstall Keepers you need the secret code shown on your parent app under settings menu. Use this secret code to remove the app on your child’s device, then you will be able to completely remove Keepers.




My child received a new device. How do I transfer the account to the new device?


To transfer your child’s account to the new device all you need to do is download Keepers to the new device, launch the app and use the same email address, choose “Child Device”, choose “Yes” under the question “Your child used Keepers before?” and enter the exact name as you’ve used before which shown on your parent app.
